COURSE DESCRIPTION

The proper recitation of Quran is of utmost importance and the Maldivian society has always lacked the human resource who recites Quran in accordance with the rules and principles of Tajwid. The concept of Quran Reading with Tajweed has immense importance in the preservation of the Quran and its authority, as correction and beauty of the words leads to the production of perfect meanings.

This program aims to provide pre-intermediate knowledge and skills in Qira’at and to provide an entry route for higher qualifications in the field or Qira’at and Quran recitation.

The goal of Certificate Two in Qira’at is to further develop individuals with the pre-intermediate knowledge and skills of Qira’at, to prepare them for further studies in related fields and prepare them for undertaking entry to administrative level jobs related to the practical use of Qira’at.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

(1) Completion of Basic Education AND

(2) Attainment of MQA approved Level 1 qualification in Qira'at
